Singer and current coach of “The Voice” Kelly Clarkson will host NBC’s three-hour live telecast of the 2018 Billboard Music Awards, it was announced today. The awards take place on Sunday, May 20 at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

The Billboard Latin Music Awards are just weeks away, and the competition between the most popular songs — such as “Despacito” by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee featuring Justin Bieber, J Balvin and Willy William’s “Mi Gente” featuring Beyoncé, “Escapate Conmigo” by Wisin and Ozuna, Maluma’s “Felices Los 4” and “Chantaje” with Shakira — remains very close.

Among all categories, Regional Mexican song of the year has attracted perhaps the most attention, because it only has two artists competing, each with two songs: Calibre 50 with “Corrido de Juanito” and “Siempre te Voy a Amar,” against Christian Nodal’s “Adios Amor” and “Probablemente” (feat. David Bisbal).
